The latest news from Tectime....

Thanks to all who attended the March session of the User Group. Some interesting points were made, the User Group forum concept was well received and could be useful in the coming months with new ideas for Version 9. 

It was also noted that whilst the traditional day for the meeting has been a Wednesday a suggestion was to move to Thursday and the concensus was this would be better for individuals in terms of their diary planning. 

So the planned next meeeting will move to the Thursday, we will contact all members to confirm the date.

With the recent cold UK weather the charger protected the batteries by not starting the fast charge cycle after being left in the “cold”. Within 24 hrs tech support had a question from Australia about a study board delaying the FAST charge cycle, turns out it was too hot!

Great to see the study board charging system working as intended in the real world, not something we hear about often as the design just works!
 

We are about to issue iePro Mobile V1.18.02.00.
 

This covers a few minor updates based on user feedback and some background updates for
Android 6 OS (Marshmallow). Thanks all and keep the feedback coming.

How we examine and achieve our standards is a subject of debate. Here at Tectime we believe direct measurement is initially a key part of this process.  Using our systems clients develop accurate information which when standardised can develop into a powerful database for the development of synthetics.

One of the issues with direct measurement techniques is the analysis time and this very often limits or even prevents the measurement from taking place with our iePro software we almost completely remove this analysis time. IePro gives you values potentially within minutes of ending the study, with statistical details with a simple click of your mouse. This can be complied to a database for the development of synthetics which in the longer term will reduce the need for direct measurement, all based on your own values.

Of course we understand the need for flexibility so the database will allow the input of data from other sources such a Predetermined Time Standards in the form of TMU’s

There is nothing simple about Work Measurement but with our systems “life” is so much easier!

It’s our office party this afternoon (21st) so response times will get longer and quite possibly incoherent towards the end of the day!

We send our best wishes to all during this period but on a more somber note our thoughts are with the family of Stuart Smith a great friend of Tectime, who sadly passed away recently. RIP.

The document preview option (DocView) for both iePro desktop and FASTbase now has a PDF output as standard.

Allowing the transfer of reports and statistics to an individual or third party that may not have our systems installed. This compliments the export functions to spreadsheet already available from DocView. 

This is a really useful addition as not all clients have the ability to create PDF’s. This is a free of charge update to warranty and contract customers via the customer portal.  

FASTbase latest release includes an option to input a TMU value for a described element, this is converted to a Basic Time and then can be used to develop new syntectics combining with exsiting direct measurement values. As new operational values are created, required frequency and allowances can be applied to create Standard Time Values. Just a quick note to all users under warranty or have our maintenance support contract. 

The customer portal is now available to use. In the first instance you will need to  request access by completing the online form. 

Our aim is to offer updated documents and other types of training/support media, incuding downloads of the latest systems. The starting point for this will be the current list of documents (pdf's) which will be reviewed and expanded.
